Atty. Banal is a member of the Litigation Group of the Firm. She
handles civil and criminal cases and special proceedings, both at the
trial and appellate levels and covering various subjects such as
contract and construction disputes, family law, and intra-corporate
controversies. Atty. Banal also handles corporate and
commercial matters for entities in the banking, food, freight
forwarding, transportation, infrastructure, power, water, and mining
sectors. She regularly advises Philippine and foreign clients,
including listed companies, on the regulatory aspects of doing business
in the Philippines. She has worked on projects involving corporate
structuring, mergers and acquisitions, government long-term leases,
infrastructure projects, mining claims, franchising, technology
transfer arrangements, bond issuances, tender offer, and initial public
offering. Her participation includes preparation of the transaction
documents, due diligence audit, contract negotiations, and securing the
pertinent government approvals and licenses. Professional Activities
Atty. Banal is a consultant to the Asian Development Bank. She has also
been involved in the Doing Business project of the World Bank in
relation to the Philippine setting. She also performs corporate
