Fernando C. Sioson's practice deals with a broad range of energy and infrastructure projects, including power generation, oil, gas, mineral exploration and development, railway projects and telecommunications.
He also has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings as well as in debt and equity transactions.
Atty. Sioson was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1995 and received citation from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines for receiving the second highest average in the 1994 Philippine Bar Examinations.
Practice
Atty. Sioson has represented both Philippine and foreign clients in various dealings before the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Energy, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, the Department of Transportation and Communications, the Bureau of Mines, the Bureau of Internal Revenue, and the Central Bank of the Philippines. He has also represented clients in commercial arbitration before the ICC International Court of Arbitration.
He regularly advises Philippine and foreign clients in the energy, oil, mining and infrastructure fields. He has acted as project counsel, as well as counsel to the equity investors, turnkey contractors, financial advisers and project lenders.
He has expertise in government contracts involving privatizations, public biddings, procurements and joint ventures. He also regularly advises clients on corporate structuring relative to mergers and acquisitions and corporate reorganizations.
