Lee Benjamin Z. Lerma's practice deals with a broad range of energy and infrastructure projects, including power generation, pipelines, oil, gas, and mineral exploration and development. He also has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and loan transactions. He is also actively practicing intellectual property law and environmental law.
Mr. Lerma was admitted to the Philippine Bar on 1997.
Practice
Mr. Lerma regularly advises Philippine and foreign clients in the energy, oil, mining and infrastructure fields. He has acted not only as project counsel but as counsel to the equity investors, turnkey contractors, or project lenders. He has also been involved in various debt restructurings as counsel for the borrower, lender, financial adviser or arranger.
He also regularly advises Philippine and foreign clients on environmental and regulatory matters. Since 1998, he has been a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department and as such has handled patent and trademark matters before the Philippine Intellectual Property Office.
Professional Activities
Concurrently, Mr. Lerma is a lecturer at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law where he is handling courses on Credit Transactions, Statutory Construction and Legal Writing.
