Atty. Jose Luis G. De Dios’ practice deals with a broad range of capital market matters, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings, and bond issuances.
Atty. De Dios was admitted to the Philippine Bar on 1990.

Practice
Atty. De Dios has represented both Philippine and foreign clients in various dealings before the Securities and Exchange Commission, Board of Investments, Department of Trade and Industries, Department of Finance, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (the “Central Bank of the Philippines”) and various local government units. He has also argued cases before the trial courts, the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court.

Atty. De Dios regularly advises many Philippine and foreign clients on initial public offerings and other equity issues, public offering and private placements of debt securities such as bonds and commercial papers, and other securities issues (including offer and sale of timeshares); SEC investigations (including those on broker-dealer transactions, violations of the Philippine Securities Regulation Code, Corporation Code and the Anti-Dummy Law); setting-up various corporate entities (including securities and insurance brokerage firms and joint venture companies); corporate rehabilitation cases; estate planning and extra-judicial settlement of estates; and various commercial transactions (including syndicated loan agreements, underwriting agreements and notes and bonds facility agreements). His work includes transactions advice, licensing matters, and dealings with capital markets. He has extensive experience dealing with corporate and securities laws as well as estate planning, including extra-judicial settlement of estates and deeds of partitions.

In addition, Atty. De Dios has advised Philippine and foreign clients on regulatory and transactional matters, including international joint ventures as well as international and domestic initial public offerings of securities.

Professional Activities
Prior to joining the firm, Atty. De Dios was a professor at the Ateneo De Manila Law School. He has also worked on various corporate and securities matters in the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) under various SEC departments including the Office of the Chairman. He was also designated as the SEC representative to the USAID Capital Market Development Program.
