Michael Aguinaldo’s practice deals with primarily with special projects, more particularly in the infrastructure and telecommunications sectors, and other public utility work, providing legal services in areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring, contract negotiations, and labor and human resources integration. In addition, he handles litigation and arbitration for Philippine and foreign clients.

Atty. Aguinaldo was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1993, placing 7th in the Bar exam.

Practice
Atty. Aguinaldo has represented both Philippine and foreign clients in various dealings before various government and regulatory agencies. He is currently involved in various energy and infrastructure work including power plants, telecommunications, and other public utility work. He has also done work in mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructuring in the cement and banking sectors. He regularly advises international corporate clients in transactions and projects, including outsourcing and electronic commerce, and on corporate and labor matters.
In addition, he has handled litigation in almost all aspects of the firm's practice, including commercial, civil, tax, securities, and labor cases, including arbitration, and has appeared in the judicial courts and administrative agencies for or on behalf of Philippine and foreign clients. He has extensive experience in handling insolvency and rehabilitation cases. He has also argued cases before the trial courts, the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court, and has represented clients in Congressional Committee investigations.
Atty. Aguinaldo was also a consultant to the Asian Development Bank from 1998-2005.

Professional Activities
Atty. Aguinaldo is currently a law professor at the Ateneo de Manila University Law School, where he has been teaching since 1994. He handles classes in Credit Transactions, Legal Forms, and conducts a Seminar on Negotiations. He has taught Labor Relations and Labor Standards Law in the past. He is also a lecturer at Mandatory Continuing Legal Education seminars.
Atty. Aguinaldo has published numerous articles on electronic commerce and internet law for trade and legal publications. He has also provided consultancy services on various bills and resolutions for the Philippine Congress.
